Sally Cawood is a PhD scholar at the Global Development Institute GDI (formerly Brooks World Poverty Institute and Institute for Development Policy and Management IDPM), School of Environment, Education and Development, University of Manchester, UK. Sally’s research interests include urban geography, social policy and grassroots initiatives in low-income settlements in the Global South. Sally’s current work is on the role of community based organizations in accessing basic services in informal settlements in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
