The Middle East Institute (MEI) in Washington, D.C., seeks a full-time Finance Manager. This is a hybrid position requiring at least one day at the office. The Finance Manager will report to the Chief Financial Officer and will provide accounting support to ensure smooth and secure daily operations within the Institute’s headquarters.


  • Manages accurate and timely processing of accounts payable including but not limited to document review, vendor set-up, invoice and expense reimbursements, check/ACH processing, and 1099 preparation.

  • Maintains timely and accurate collections of accounts receivable balances; ensures timely posting of cash receipts.

  • Processes payroll.

  • Prepares monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.

  • Leads quarterly reconciliations with other departments (programs, fundraising, etc.)

  • Ensures timely and accurate month-end close and reporting.

  • Coordinates year-end audits.

  • Prepares and analyzes financial and operational reports; prepares reports required by regulatory agencies, banks, and other external parties.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.


  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) in accounting or finance or equivalent.

  • Two to four years of related experience or equivalent with a non-profit

  • Proficient in Excel and QuickBooks.
