Middle East Institute

In conjunction with the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University, the Middle East Institute is pleased to sponsor a discussion with Professor PR Kumaraswamy and Ambassador Arun K. Singh on India’s Israel policy.  India and Israel have been close allies since establishing  diplomatic relations in 1992, and India is Israel’s strongest ally in Asia. Mutual defense and security interests form the basis of India and Israel’s close relationship: Israel is India’s largest arms supplier, and India is Israel’s largest arms market. The two countries also share intelligence on terrorist groups. Prof. Kumaraswamy will discuss the ramifications of this relationship for broader  regional stability and for international security.
