On behalf of the Middle East Institute, we are pleased to invite you to a webinar on the state of play in Gaza.
Earlier this month, Nickolay Mladenov, the Board of Peace’s High Representative for Gaza, briefed the United Nations Security Council and shared a 15-point roadmap for implementing the Trump administration’s original 20-point peace and recovery plan for the war-torn enclave. His remarks underscored the challenges that persist in Gaza, where improved — but still dire — humanitarian and security conditions are the backdrop to stalled momentum toward recovery, Hamas disarmament, Israeli withdrawal, and transitional governance.
What are the possibilities and obstacles to realizing the stated goal of Mladenov’s roadmap: to “move Gaza out of a permanent cycle of war and humanitarian collapse toward recovery, reconstruction and Palestinian self-governance?”
