Nick Vargish is a defense policy advisor focused on the intersection of Middle Eastern regional politics and American defense strategy. Previously, Nick served as a John S. McCain Strategic Defense Fellow with the Department of Defense and as a David Boren Graduate Fellow in Amman, Jordan. During graduate school, he worked as a Research Assistant for the Geopolitics of Energy Project at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, an editor for the Journal of Middle Eastern Politics and Policy, and a fellow in the Department of State’s Office of Analysis for Near Eastern Affairs. Nick holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Arabic from Vassar College and a Master in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School.
