MEI's Center for Turkish Studies is proud to host the Hon. Suat Kınıklıoğlu, AKP Deputy Chairman of External Affairs and the Chairman of the Turkish-American Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, for a conversation about Turkey's neighborhood policy and its influence and implications in the Middle East.
Since 2002, Turkey has begun to institute a neighborhood policy that seeks to minimize tensions with bordering states. What is commonly known as the "zero problems with neighbors" policy has started a process of Turkish reintegration into the Middle East. As a result, there has been a significant increase in Turkey's political dialogue and economic interaction with its neighbors, which is garnering significant attention in the region and beyond.
