George Visan

George Visan is a Black Sea Security Program Coordinator at the Romanian Energy Center (ROEC), focusing primarily on Black Sea security infrastructure in the aftermath of the Ukrainian crisis. His areas of expertise at ROEC include military affairs, naval policy, European and international security and NATO. 

George has contributed to several Romanian and international publications and organizations, including ’22’ weekly magazine, Foreign Policy Romania, Jamestown Foundation, Al Jazeera Center for Studies and Diario de Noticias. George was previously an assistant political analyst for the Limited Electoral Observation Mission of the OSCE/ODIHR in Romania. He also co-founded civitaspolitics.org, a platform for analysis of Romanian politics and international affairs.
