Elliot Silverberg is a Non-Resident Scholar with the Strategic Technologies and Cyber Security Program at the Middle East Institute, where he provides policy analysis on Indo-Pacific affairs and global digital and technology trends.
Elliot has previously worked as a digital trade policy advisor at the U.S. Department of Commerce, at global tech policy consultancy Access Partnership, and at strategic advisory firm The Asia Group. Elliot is currently contracted with the U.S. Department of Defense as a senior staffer to an independent advisory board on defense innovation.
Elliot has held fellowships at the Pacific Forum in Hawaii, and at the Institute for the Study of Diplomacy in Washington, DC. He was also a National Security Boren Fellow, a visiting researcher at the Tokyo Foundation for Policy Research, and a visiting scholar at Keio University in Japan. Elliot has written for Foreign Policy, War on the Rocks, The Hill, The Japan Times, South China Morning Post, The Straits Times, The Diplomat, The National Interest, and Real Clear Defense, among others.
Elliot has been an Aspen Strategy Group Rising Leader and a National Bureau of Asian Research Next Gen Leader.
