Jomana R. Alrashid is the Chief Executive Officer at SRMG and holds a position on SRMG’s Board of Directors. Since her appointment in 2020, Jomana has spearheaded a comprehensive digital transformation strategy – reshaping and expanding the reach and formats of the group’s diverse portfolio. She has also introduced further innovation and new growth opportunities by introducing a range of new SRMG business verticals.
In 2022, Jomana was appointed as the Chairwoman of the Red Sea International Film Foundation, where she has played a pivotal role in overseeing its strategy and overall direction. Jomana’s appointment was in recognition of her contribution and the significant impact she has made to the growth and evolution of the regional media sector and film industry.
In her role as CEO of SRMG, Jomana has driven the business’s expansion securing SRMG’s position as the largest integrated media group from the MENA region, bringing quality news and information to over 172 million people worldwide through 35 leading titles, including Asharq Al-Awsat, Arab News, Asharq Business with Bloomberg, Billboard Arabia, and Independent Arabia. SRMG delivers top tier content across TV, digital, print and film in 7 languages spanning 4 continents.
Under her leadership, SRMG has significantly enhanced its portfolio by developing new partnerships with major international media brands such as Bloomberg Media, Warner Bros. Discovery, The Independent, Billboard and Shueisha. Through its expanding network, SRMG brings the very best global content, high-quality production expertise, and premium news and entertainment to its audiences.
Jomana oversees more than 1,900 employees whose mission is to produce content with cutting-edge insight, relevance and originality to connect global audiences and an ever-evolving consumer and media landscape. As part of the SRMG’s transformation strategy, the company has launched seven business verticals: SRMG Media to digitize and diversify the portfolio; SRMG International to drive partnerships and strategic investment; SRMGx to deliver experiential events; SRMG Think for in-depth research, data analysis and advisory services; SRMG Ventures for venture capital; SRMG Labs to deliver innovation in creativity; and SRMG Academy offering world-class training and development programs to build the region’s next generation of media talent from editorial professionals to content creators.
In addition to her CEO and Board positions at SRMG and her role as Chair of the Red Sea International Film Foundation, Jomana is also actively engaged as a member of the Board of Directors for Argaam Investment Company and King Saud University. She also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Diriyah Biennale Foundation and holds the esteemed position of Chair at Thmanyah Publishing and Distribution.
