Dr. Mohd Mizan Aslam is Professor in Security Studies at the Naif Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS), Riyadh Saudi Arabia and a Senior Fellow at the Global Peace Institute (GPI), London. He is also and Associate Member of the Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management (APPAM) and an Executive Member of Peace and Collaborative Development Network (PCDN). An expert on terrorism and extremism issues in MENA countries, he was awarded Honorary Major by Malaysian Armed Forces in September 2016 in recognition of his contribution in the field of security and deradicalization. Dr. Aslam has served on Malaysia's National Panel for Deradicalization, a special task-force unit for rehabilitation program to terrorists inmates and has worked with the Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA) of Malaysia in developing the National Action Plan (NAP) and modules for the deradicalzation program. He is the author of several books and many other publications in this field, including Typology of Radicalism (Perlis Press, 2012). He graduated with Honors in Law (Islamic) and earned a Masters in Civilizational Studies from University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur. He obtained a PhD in Strategic Studies from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand.
