The Middle East Institute (MEI) mourns the passing of Dr. David Pollock (1950-2024), a respected scholar and Bernstein Fellow at The Washington Institute for Near East Policy. Dr. Pollock was renowned for his work in advancing understanding and policy in the Middle East, particularly through directing Project Fikra and expanding the Fikra Forum. His career included impactful roles at the State Department, notably in promoting democracy and women's rights initiatives. Dr. Pollock's contributions to Middle Eastern policy and dialogue were invaluable, and his legacy will continue to inspire our work at MEI.
