2010 Annual Conference on Turkey, entitled "Turkey`s New Geopolitics: Challenges and Opportunities" is the first conference organized by the Center for Turkish Studies at the Middle East Institute. 2010 Annual Conference took place on June 18, 2010 in the University Club. Participants from area think tanks, universities, U.S. and foreign government officials as well as private sector widely attented and followed conference panels.

In the first two panels, experts on Turkey discussed the transformation of Turkish foreign policy in the Middle East and Eurasia. In the third panel, panelists shared their knowledge about current developments in the Turkish domestic politics with a specific focus on constitutional reform, Kurdish opening and civil-military relations.

Keynote speakers from high-ranking Turkish policymakers and the Turkish Ambassador to the U.S. Namik Tan shared their insights and comments on Turkish foreign and domestic politics without media distortion.
