Eric Mattoon

Lieutenant Colonel Eric Mattoon is currently assigned to the Joint Staff J-5 as a Middle East Political-Military Officer.  He was commissioned into the Marine Corps in May 2007 and became an infantry officer.  He deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan as an Infantry Platoon Commander and Company Executive Officer.  As a Company Commander, he deployed to the Pacific on the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit.  Lieutenant Colonel Eric Mattoon has completed numerous assignments in the Marine Corps, mostly focused on training Marines in the entry-level pipeline.  Lieutenant Colonel Eric Mattoon completed his undergraduate studies in Business Administration at The Citadel, Master of Business Administration at New England College, and Master of Military Studies at Marine Corps University.
