Mohd Azizuddin Mohd Sani

Mohd Azizuddin Mohd Sani, PhD is Associate Professor of Politics and International Relations at the School of International Studies (SOIS), Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). He received his doctoral degree in politics and international relations from Keele University, United Kingdom. Mohd Sani was the Dean of SOIS, UUM. He was also Visiting Fellow at the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies (ISEAS), Singapore and Visiting Professor at the National Institute of Development and Administration (NIDA), Bangkok, Thailand. Since 2012, he has been a columnist on international affairs for the Malay-language newspaper Berita Harian. He was recently appointed a Member of the National Consultative Committee on Political Financing and Fellow of Foreign Policy Study Group. In 2015, he published two books: Trends in Southeast Asia: Islamization Policy and Islamic Bureaucracy in Malaysia (ISEAS Publishing) and Media, Liberty and Politics in Malaysia: Comparative Studies on Local Dynamics and Regional Concerns (UUM Press). He has also published his works in many international journals such as the Japanese Journal of Political Science, Philippine Political Science Journal, Journal of Contemporary Asia, and Asian Journal of Political Science on topics related to political theory, media politics, human rights, democratization and Malaysian politics.
