Dr. Dara Conduit is a non-resident scholar in the Middle East Institute’s Syria program. She is a Lecturer and Australian Research Council DECRA Fellow at the University of Melbourne, where she is working on a number of projects related to digital authoritarianism, contentious politics and violence in Syria. Her academic work has been widely published in journals including DemocratizationPolitical Geography, Studies in Conflict and Terrorism and The Middle East Journal, and her book, The Muslim Brotherhood in Syria, was published by Cambridge University Press in 2019. Dara is a regular media commentator and her work has been cited in UN reports. She is co-convenor of the women Middle East researchers in Australia network (WoMENA).
