Roel Meijer teaches Middle Eastern history at Radboud University, Nijmegen and was previously a Senior Research Fellow at Clingendael, The Hague. His latest edited volume is Global Salafism: Islam’s New Religious Movement (Hurst/Columbia UP, 2009).
