Athena Masthoff serves as the Policy and Program Associate at the Middle East Institute, where she conducts research and analysis alongside Brian Katulis, interim Vice President of Policy and Senior Fellow for US Foreign Policy. Athena also facilitates the operation of key Policy Center programs and strategic initiatives. Prior to this role, she worked as the Executive Assistant to the President at MEI, after beginning her career as an Executive Office Intern in January of 2024.
She holds a B.A. in International Affairs from George Washington University, with a concentration in security policy and a minor in Photography. Athena is proficient in Italian and is currently enrolled in Arabic language classes.
