April 18, 2017 – Gonul Tol, director of the Center for Turkish Studies at the Middle East Institute, joins host Paul Salem to discuss the results of the April 16 Turkish referendum. She argues it is the most consequential political development since the establishment of the Turkish republic in 1923, and she examines what the vote could mean for the future of Turkey’s governance system, policies toward the Kurdish issue, and Ankara’s regional and international relations.
