Mr. Hoguet’s career was marked by global perspective, strategic insight, and a lifelong commitment to advancing understanding across cultures and economies. In the first Reagan Administration, he served in the US Treasury Department as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Affairs and represented the United States at the World Bank. He later became a leading investment strategist and trusted advisor to institutions around the world, bringing vision, expertise, and a deep appreciation for international engagement.
His service on MEI’s Board reflected those same qualities. Mr. Hoguet believed deeply in MEI’s role as a convener of ideas and dialogue, and his counsel strengthened the Institute’s ability to foster peace, prosperity, and understanding between the United States and the Middle East.
We extend our deepest condolences to his wife, Marie, and the rest of his family, friends, and colleagues as we honor his remarkable life and service.
