The Middle East Institute is proud to host digital media experts Adel Iskandar and Courtney Radsch for a discussion on the nature of the cyberactivism that is fueling the uprisings spreading throughout the Middle East. Iskandar will examine the battle in Egypt between the government and the protesters to control online discourse, analyzing the obstacles and the successes. Radsch will look ahead to some of the online struggles in other Arab nations, examining how governments in countries like Saudi Arabia are working to control online mobilization and activism and what lessons can be drawn from Egypt. She will also examine the response of cyberactivists to the crackdowns, as well as explore the role of the U.S. and the international community in supporting cyberactivism in the Middle East.
