The Black Sea basin is a complex region at a geopolitical and economic crossroads. Countries are beginning to face the disastrous effects of global climate change through rising temperatures in the Black Sea causing increased rainfall threatening the homes of thousands of people. Cooperative action must take place to reduce carbon emissions and alleviate the consequences of climate change. However, as governments pursue to mitigate climate change, nations are working toward different climate targets, whether binding or not.

What are the current short and long term environmental impacts in the Black Sea basin? How are governments addressing them? In what ways are they succeeding and failing? What are the current policy proposals discussed throughout the region?
