Ahmed Fouad

Ahmed Fouad is an Egyptian journalist and analyst. He has contributed to a number of think tanks, most notably the Emirates Policy Center (EPC) and the Middle East Institute. From 2014 to 2017, he was the head of the research department at the Arab Network for Media Support, through which he joined research projects with UNESCO. As a journalist, he has been the newsroom managing editor of Shorouknews (a leading Egyptian media outlet). As a specialist in analytical and explanatory journalism, he has contributed to Reuters, Al-Monitor, The Arab Weekly, and IC Publications (the publisher of African Banker, African Business, New African magazines). As a script writer and researcher, he is a regular contributor to the documentaries production department of Al-Arabiya TV (a leading regional media outlet). He is a graduate of the journalism department at the Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University.

    Egypt is currently the fastest-growing Arab exporter of liquefied natural gas (LNG), according to a report released by the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries on Aug. 16. The report showed that Egypt exported around 1.4 million tons of LNG in the second quarter of 2021, having not exported any LNG during the same period in 2020.
