Nathan E. McCormack is a Colonel in the U.S. Army, currently serving as the Strategic Initiatives Group Chief for Joint Task Force – National Capital Region and the U.S. Army Military District of Washington. Nathan commissioned as an Infantry officer in 2003 through Texas A&M University ROTC and has held key leadership and command positions, including as the Levant and Egypt Branch Chief for the Joint Staff (J5). His operational experience includes multiple deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom, Resolute Support, and Freedom’s Sentinel. Nathan holds Master of Arts degrees in Middle Eastern History from the University of Texas at Austin and Strategic Security Studies from National Defense University and is currently pursuing a PhD in Security Studies from Kansas State University.
