Reem Maghribi is the daughter of a former Libyan diplomat and a Syrian mother. After establishing a strong reputation as an editor, publisher, and communications consultant in London, where she was born and grew up, Maghribi moved to Syria in 2008 where she is now editor of the only English-language daily newspaper, Baladna English. Maghribi is also founder and editor of Sharq magazine, an English- language publication about Arab culture and lifestyles, launched in print in London in 2005 before going online with a readership of over 300,000 throughout Europe and the Arab world. Maghribi has appeared as a guest on various primetime programs including GMtv London, SkyNews, BBC World, and Al-Jazeera. She has also been a speaker on panels in the Houses of Parliament, and in Doha.
